Bacon Rice

Not a difficult recipe, but oh so good! How can it not be... it has bacon in it.
This from by friend Debi... a staple at Laban family luaus.

Bacon Rice

5 cups Calrose rice, uncooked
1 lb. bacon
1 bunches green onions, diced
garlic salt to taste

Steam the rice in your usual manner. While the rice is cooking, cut the bacon into about 1" pieces and cook until crispy. Pull the bacon pieces out of the grease and drain on paper towel. DO NOT DRAIN the grease from the pan. Wilt the onions in the hot grease (this only takes a few seconds). The rice should be ready around the time you finish the bacon and onions. Place the hot rice in a large bowl, sprinkle generously with garlic salt. Add the bacon pieces and onions. Spoon as much of the hot grease as you like over the rice and mix well.
